A Quick Tour of the Dashboard

Minnesota Web Studio creates custom WordPress backend configurations made specifically for your business. Once you’re logged in, here’s an example of what you’ll see and what actually needs your attention.

    The left-hand menu

    This is your main navigation. You’ll mostly use Pages and Media Library — most other menu items are configured by us and don’t need your attention.

    Pages vs. Posts

    “Pages” are the core pages of your site — Home, About, Services, Contact. “Posts” only apply if your site includes a blog, and show up as a separate feed.

    Your menu will reflect the unique way you use your site. For instance, some clients have custom forms created specifically for their business, and will see a different menu item to track form submissions. Some clients will have specific menu items for things like Case Studies, FAQs, Testimonials, Services, Locations, etc., depending on the specific systems built for your business. If you are having trouble finding the location of the items you’d like to update, reach out and we can help.

    The admin bar

    The bar across the top lets you jump to “View Site” to see your live site, or back to the dashboard from anywhere. Your site name will be displayed here, Outdoor Decor Landscape is used as an example for demonstration below.
