Introduction

Welcome to the Minnesota Web Studio website. This privacy policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect and manage your information.

What Information We Collect

We may collect personal identification information — such as your name, email address, phone number, business or practice name, and the details of your inquiry — when you:

  • Submit a contact form or request a quote, demo, or consultation;
  • Sign up for a lead magnet, such as our HIPAA compliance checklist;
  • Use our free website health check tool, which collects the URL you submit and, if you request a detailed report, your name and email address;

We also automatically collect certain technical information from all visitors, such as IP address and general traffic-source data (see "Cookies & Tracking Technologies" below).

How We Use Your Information

Minnesota Web Studio may use the information we collect in the following ways:

  • To respond to your inquiry: We use the contact details you provide to answer your questions, follow up on quote or demo requests, and deliver requested resources.
  • To process transactions and requests: We use the information you provide to deliver accurate quotes, service estimates, and website health reports.
  • To send marketing communications, with consent: If you opt in (for example, when requesting our HIPAA compliance checklist), we'll enroll your email in our mailing list to send occasional tips and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
  • To understand how visitors find our site: We use anonymized-where-possible traffic source data (e.g., which search engine, ad, or campaign brought you to the site) to understand which marketing efforts are working, gated behind your cookie consent choices.
  • To improve our website: We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies related to marketing attribution and analytics only load after you grant consent through our cookie consent banner (powered by Complianz); necessary site functionality is not gated behind this consent.

  • mws_first_touch / mws_last_touch: These cookies record how you first arrived at our site (e.g., search engine, referring site, or ad campaign) and your most recent visit source. mws_first_touch is retained for up to 365 days and mws_last_touch for up to 90 days. This data may be attached to a form submission you make so we can understand which marketing channels generate inquiries, and is shared with Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics for reporting.
  • Google Tag Manager: We use Google Tag Manager to manage the analytics and advertising tags described below, subject to your cookie consent choices.
  • Google Analytics (GA4): Gated behind your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and visitor behavior (such as which pages are viewed and which forms are submitted).
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel & Conversions API: Gated behind your consent, we use Meta's Pixel and Conversions API, which sets cookies such as _fbp and may set _fbc. These share information about your visit — such as pages viewed and general device/browser data — with Meta, so we can measure and build audiences for advertising on Facebook and Instagram, even before any specific ad campaign is running.

You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent, or you may adjust your consent preferences at any time through our cookie preference tool. If you do so, note that some parts of the site may not function properly, and traffic-source data will not be captured.

Third-Party Services & Data Processors

To provide you with the best possible experience and functionality, we utilize trusted third-party services on our website. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Google Tag Manager: Used to manage analytics and advertising tags, subject to your cookie consent choices.
  • Google Analytics (GA4): Used to understand site traffic and visitor behavior, subject to your cookie consent choices. Use of Google Analytics is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Pixel & Conversions API: Used to measure and build audiences for advertising on Facebook and Instagram, subject to your cookie consent choices. This may share information such as your IP address, browser and device data, and pages visited with Meta, even if you have not clicked on a Meta ad. Use of Meta's tools is subject to Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: We use Google's reCAPTCHA v3 to protect our contact forms from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may collect hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and send it to Google. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Google Fonts: Our site loads typefaces from Google's font service, which may involve your browser connecting to Google's servers.
  • Google PageSpeed Insights API: Our website health check tool utilizes the Google PageSpeed Insights API. When you submit a URL to be analyzed, we send that URL to Google's API to generate a performance report for your site.
  • Make.com: If you request a detailed website health report, your name, email, and the report results are sent to our automation platform, Make.com, which compiles and emails the report to you.
  • MailerLite: If you opt in to receive emails from us (for example, through our HIPAA compliance checklist form), your name and email address are stored with MailerLite, our email marketing provider, to send you the requested resource and any subsequent communications you've agreed to receive.
  • Custom CRM webhook: Submissions from our lead forms are also sent to our internal customer relationship management (CRM) system so our team can track and follow up on inquiries.

Users may also find advertising or other content on our site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our site.

How We Protect Your Information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information and data stored on our site. Form submissions are protected by reCAPTCHA and rate-limiting to reduce spam and abuse.

A Note for Healthcare Visitors

Minnesota Web Studio is a website design and development company, not a healthcare provider, covered entity, or business associate under HIPAA. Information submitted through our contact forms, quote requests, or lead magnets (including our HIPAA compliance checklist) is ordinary business contact information — please do not submit patient information or other protected health information through our website.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Minnesota Web Studio has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the top of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.

Your Acceptance of These Terms

By using this site, you signify your acceptance of this policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our site. Your continued use of the site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
